You have to have them. Face it; we all munch from time to time on unhealthy snacks.
If we don't have guilt free yummy snacks on hand we resort to eating unhealthy and end up feeling guilty.
Plan ahead and create a good organic space for your family!
Guilt Free Snacks to Store (all organic of course):
Almond Butter and Flax Crackers:
Let me know if you don't have my flax cracker recipe, however if time does not allow you are to dehydrate your own, get them from your local health store.
Black Beans and Avocados:
Heat the beans, add in avocados and dip with your favorite healthy cracker or wrap it in pita bread. This excellent snack is packed with protein and healthy fat!
Dried Fruit:
Without the sulphur dioxide, nitrates or any other added ingredients.
Organic Cheese:
Yummy! Eat alone or with pickles and raisins!
Nuts:
Raw not roasted for the healthy fat. Always chew nuts well before swallowing.
Fresh Fruit:
Top with organic yogurt (free range and hormone free if possible) for an excellent treat. Eat fruits earlier in the day to avoid a rise and fall of blood sugar levels that can be experienced from eating fruit (natural sugars) late at night.
Sparkling Water:
Excellent cold with a squirt of lemon or lime.
Guilt Free Snack Tips
Eat snacks a few hours before bedtime to ensure good digestion before you sleep.
Go for savory snacks over sweets and remember, most nighttime hunger can be eliminated with a cool glass of water.
Once in awhile when that decadent piece of chocolate or your favorite treat is irresistible, treat yourself and eat it with the upmost happiness knowing it is also part of your organic space!
