There are many key items to take with you whenever you attempt to take on the great outdoors. Here is a compilation of some you know, and others you might otherwise forget.

  1. Tent: You can get a one-man tent for a trip alone, or a large tent for eight to twelve people. Regardless, it is essential that you bring a tent along for protection from wildlife, bugs, as well as the weather.
  2. Sleeping Bag: If youre in cool or warm climates, having a sleeping bag can make your stay outdoors much more comfortable. You can use it as your blanket bed and pillow rather than bring individual items.

Before you go on your next Camping Trip, there are a few things you should be aware of. What type of equipment you decide to purchase really depends on your purpose for venturing into the wilderness. If you plan it as a vacation, you will want to purchase a few hammocks, probably one for each person in your family. There really is a lot of common sense decision making involved when it comes down to what you should purchase.

You'll want at a minimum a nice first aid kit. Of course this is mandatory. You'll want quite a few self strike stick matches in a moisture proof container in case it rains. You'll need a rainsuit, lanters, a battery operated flashlight with some extra batteries.
Also don't forget the maps and compass. The last thing you want to do is to get lost in the wilderness.

All you need to have a successful back yard camp out are a few kids, some tents, an open pit for roasting marshmallows, junk food, a little imagination and a few supervising adults! Not to mention, a back yard.

I started planning summer camp outs when one year, I decided I didn't want a house full of kids over for my son's birthday. I wasn't in the mood to clean up that mess. So, I borrowed a few tents from the neighbors, told all his buddies to bring warm pajamas and their sleeping bags, and to be prepared for an all-nighter!

From the moment the kids arrived, they were excited! The children ran amuck, playing all forms of tag, screaming, yelling and laughing it up.
